During the off season, there are now multiple opportunities in Livermore for players to hone their skills in formal or drop-in programs. Below is information on Co-ed as well as Girls and Boys programs.

LARPD Open Gym

LARPD has scheduled open gym for basketball in the summer at the rec center. This is co-ed and cost is $3 per session. A discount pass is also available. Dates and times are as follows:

Grades 3-5 MW June 30 through August 18 5:30-7 PM
Grades 6-8 MW June 30 through August 18 7-8:30 PM

I will also send a note to parents to announce this.

LARPD would like SMSC CYO to help support this program by providing coaches. The format we discussed is 15 minutes or so of stretching and fundamental skill drills followed by organized play. Kids would be divided by age/skill level to play.

This is a great opportunity to continue to build players skills and Livermore Basketball. There are a total of 15 sessions per grade level.

Coach Costello at Las Positas College will run a spring break and summer programs at the college. Please check under Community Education for information on those programs when it becomes available.

Girls - Tri-Valley AAU Lady Warriors
15 & Under - freshman and sophomores in 2010/11
13 & Under - 7th or 8th Grade in 2010/11
12 & Under - 5th or 6th Grade in 2010/11
This program is headed by John Radecke, Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Granada, and will be run by experienced high school coaches and former local high school players.

Girls - Livermore Mystics
Two high school teams
Current 7th and 8th grade players
Tryouts on Saturday, February 20, from 4-6PM at Livermore High School main gym.
This program is headed by Matthew Garza, Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Livermore High School.

Boys - Outlawz
Spring and summer activities for youth to play on traveling teams here with Livermore prep basketball. This is a 7th through 12th grade program.
Informational meeting on February 27th at 12 PM at the Livermore High School main gym to discuss the program and activities. A make up meeting will be held on March 1st at 7:30 PM at the Livermore High School main gym.
This program is headed by Patrick McKnight, Boys Varsity Basketball Coach at Livermore High School.
