Volunteer Duties

CYO Board of Directors - We are always looking for people to help us run our Basketball program. We have a good time with each other. Making our program available to all kids who want to play Basketball and have fun is our goal. There are all kinds of positions available, large and small. Anything you can do will help! Email us with your thoughts!

Team Parent - This position is the most valuable to a coach. This person helps the coach to communicate league and team information to the parents, communicates team updates on practices and games, helps coordinate other volunteers on the team as needed (pictures, publicity, etc), and helps find team sponsors for the team. This commitment is throughout the basketball season.

Crab Feed Helper - This person is responsible for getting a hold of the Crab Feed coordinator to see what things need to be done. He/She will be the representative from the team to help at our annual Crab Feed fundraiser.

Team Picture Coordinator - Each Team will receive their picture packet when they get their uniforms. The Team Picture Coordinator is responsible in making sure everyone knows when and where to meet for the photos. The coordinator also reminds parents to make sure their order envelope is completely filled out when arriving for the photos. When the photos are delivered, the Team Picture Coordinator receives the photos and distributes them to the parents at practices or games. The time commitment is a couple of days before the date of pictures and a couple of days after the pictures arrive.

Snack Coordinator - This person is responsible for creating a snack schedule for the team parents. Each parent is responsible to bring snacks to a game. The snack coordinator is also responsible in reminding parents of their scheduled games to bring snacks.

Sponsor Coordinator - This person is responsible for identifying sponsors for each team. The sponsor will receive a Plaque, an ad on our website and mention in the Crab Feed Program. The sponsor can be a parent on the team or a business.

Publicity Reporter - This person is responsible to report the game score and the players names and highlights of both teams by noon each Monday following the game. This information is reported via the internet from the SM/SC CYO Web Page.

Team Party Coordinator - This person is responsible to organize the end of the year party for all the players and parents of the team.
